I was looking for a stylish, clean, low-tech, white digital watch that I could use for work. I came upon the Jellibeam watches and wanted one right away! Judging form the photos I've seen online, the watch looked well made and inexpensive compared to watches of similar styles.
I was kind of disappointed when the watch arrived. The polyurethane, or "silicone" as I've seen it advertised in other places, is somewhat stiff. If you've ever seen, touched, or tried on the Teller P watches by Nixon, you know what actual fine quality silicone wrist straps are like, and the Jellibeam's strap is nothing like that! It's almost like having a softer version of the material Crocs are made of wrapped around your wrist. I'm actually afraid that it will dry out like rubber bands do eventually and just crumble! The watch was also smelly (which I didn't mind), felt greasy (possibly because of the material), and had minor stains on it (I'm detail oriented!). Wasn't too surprised, after seeing the quality of the watch.
The watch only has the following three functions: time (without AM or PM being displayed), the day and month, and seconds. For the price, I wish the makers would have added more features -- a timer, backlight, or even just an AM/PM display! Note: I think this watch has been MISLABELED a women's watch. No where on the packaging does it say that it's a women's watch. I've seen this watch sold as a unisex watch elsewhere and it holds true because the wrist strap has enough adjustments for smaller to larger wrists. Even though I was terribly disappointed by the quality, I still like the clean style of the Jellibeams, so I decided to keep it. Who knows, maybe the bright LED light will come in handy one day when I'm having a Blair Witch moment!
