This watch fits the bill.It has a built-in database of beaches that are popular with surfers and are close enough to where I kayak to be useful.You can put in your own lat/long measurements as a custom location but the process is a little painful.The only other drawback is that the documentation comes in a pamphlet with type that is so small it's impossible to read without a magnifying glass.Thankfully it was available online in PDF format.
